Under 13 & 16 Event at Driffield

The Under 13 event had to be cancelled due to rain but several were invited to attend for the following Sunday. The sun was shining on the 8th June and eight experienced bowlers attended and kindly agreed to experiment with a pairs/singles format based on the Davis Cup idea. The winners were Holly and Sam Arundell from Selby. Thirteen beginners also came and they and their parents enjoyed the morning session with some coaching and some games.
Unfortunately the event had been advertised as an Under 16 Pairs competition and several supporters turned up around dinner time with that expectation.. We however intende that it was a development day to encourage the younger bowlers and from that view point it was very successful.
First session of coaching for the Ladies U31 'Amy Rose' Team held at Hornsea BC.
Other sessions are planned for the 1st & 13th June, 4th & 25th July at Driffield, Pocklington, Bert Keech and Dunnington respectively.
The competition is to be held at Royal Leamington Spa in August .

Coaching in Jersey
Dennis Cheater Ian & Pat Paddy spent two weeks in May coaching twice a day at the clubs in Jersey. They returned very tired but having gained valuable experience that they hope to pass on to all the coaches
